Bohemian shepherd is a dog breed used from 13th century on Czech / German borders. Bohemian shepherd is probably ancestor of the famous German shepherd.
Bohemian shepherds were used by Chodes, people living on Czech – German borders. Border guard was main duty of these people. They were armed by axes. Meanwhile they slowed down the approaching troops by blocking roads by trees (axe) and by skirmish attacks from woods.

  4. Thanks for the mentiong the Bohemian shepherd. This is a very old and amazing dog breed. Czech (Bohemia=Czechia) have a next great dog: Czechoslovakian wolfdog, mix of German shepherd and wolf. This is a next great dog, more subtle than the German is but also more agile.
